Systems Administrator (Multiple Locations)

Work Location: Creech AFB, Nevada, Holloman AFB, New Mexico, Whiteman AFB, Missouri, Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota, Shaw AFB, South Carolina

Position Description
Maintain various government networks in an operational ready state and assist teams with solutions for real-time computer and communication issues. Perform maintenance and upgrades to all government networks and systems in support of 24/7 operations. Assist teams to define, document, and integrate required computer and intelligence capabilities to enhance government mission. Systems maintained include, at a minimum, NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, VoIP, NSTS phone system, Video Teleconferencing suites, internal and external video dissemination, and internal and external voice communications. Other networks and systems may be included but are not listed here. Shift work may be required.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma augmented by ongoing technical training, certification, and work experience of at least 2 years
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II eligibility; must have CompTIA Sec+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Eligibility for TS/SCI clearance. Applicants for this position will be asked to provide information necessary for determining eligibility with the DoD Adjudication Facility
  • Possess current state driver’s license

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience maintaining C4ISR networks, systems, and applications
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills in a 24/7 team environment
  • Experience with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS), and Domain Name Systems (DNS) in a mixed Windows/UNIX environment
  • Familiarity with UNIX or LINUX as it integrates with a Windows environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities for managing divers networks, hardware, and applications
  • Adept at using the MS Office suite for generating reports, tracking matrices, briefs, etc.
  • Possess an understanding of network topology, standards, and hardening practices

General Job Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision, install and provide Tier I and II level support for multiple networks, systems, hardware, and applications
  • Identify and resolve network, hardware, and application outages
  • Utilize knowledge repository for expeditious resolution; document outages and solutions for future reference
  • Contribute to the design, installation, and administration of supported systems
