Training Manager

Work Location: Creech AFBN, Las Vegas, NV

Position Description
The Training Manager coordinates between the squadron’s training department, Director of Operations, and the squadron’s aviation resource management to arrange a flight schedule which facilitates operations, qualifications, upgrades, tests, and exercises. The Training Manager contributes to long- and short-range schedules to ensure full coverage by all qualified aircrew, instructors, evaluators, support personnel, and supervisors, and helps the customer determine availability for flight, ground, and simulator schedule requirements for upgrade, initial qualification, requalification, transition, currency, and continuation training based on syllabus requirements, student progression, weather, and daily equipment/training range availability.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma augmented by ongoing technical training, certification, and work experience of at least 2 years working in an RPA squadron training program, or 5 years’ experience in a DoD flying squadron training program
  • Demonstrated 2 years’ experience working with Patriot Excalibur (PEX)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience using the MS Office suite for generating reports, tracking matrices, briefs, etc.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a MQ-1/9 or RQ-170 training program at the squadron/group/wing level, or 5 years’ experience managing the training program for another DoD flying squadron/group/wing
  • Active TS/SCI
  • Possess current state driver’s license

General Job Responsibilities

  • Update data in PEX and locally developed computer database systems as required
  • Track daily flight/ground/academic training requirements and accomplishments to facilitate accurate flight scheduling as directed by the operations officer
  • Interface with Host Aviation Resource Management (HARM) personnel to update the Aviation Resource Management System (ARMS) as required
  • Review and update student/permanent party records, folders, and grade books per the applicable AFIs, associated ACC Installation supplements, and locally developed guidance
  • Administer classes and exams as required. Coordinate with scheduling to ensure crewmembers are scheduled for Crew Resource Management, Instructor Crew Resource Management, Instrument Refresher Course, and any other grounding or pre-deployment training requirements
  • Perform weekly individual gradebook checks of personnel training and ancillary training requirements
  • Prepare and execute periodic training/testing plans for approval and scheduling
  • Provide weekly updates to squadron leadership containing the flight and readiness of status of personnel to facilitate tracking of duty status and performance report/decoration accomplishment
  • Coordinate with scheduling, enabling them to maximize training opportunities in accordance with unit leadership guidance and consistent with applicable AFIs
  • Provide daily tracking and weekly summaries of upgrade and continuation training accomplishments
  • Assist in the development of new curriculum and syllabi for aircrew and ground training
  • Generate Qualification Worksheets, training aids, monthly aircrew qualification level summaries, monthly and quarterly Rated Aircrew Performance reports, grade book reports, and summaries of aircrew probation/regression status
