Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)

Location: US Cyber Command/NSA/Fort George G. Meade Compound

Contract Description

In support of the USCYBERCOM Cybersecurity/CIO Support Division, our ISSE will be part of a team responsible for reviewing and assessing cybersecurity capabilities and security controls, policies, authorities, network architecture, and training awareness programs; participate in working groups; coordinating with stakeholders in the Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, Services, and other DoD Agencies; review and assess inspections and incident reports for systemic trends and gaps in the cybersecurity implementation, policy, and training; provide security engineering, security control assessment, authorization oversight, and continuous monitoring of current and future USCYBERCOM systems.

Minimum Requirements

  • Twelve (12) years of experience with cybersecurity or information assurance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of Federal and DoD security policies
  • DoD 8570 IASAE Level II eligible
  • Active TS/SCI
  • Possess current state driver’s license

General Job Responsibilities

  • Provide for information security engineering and oversight for USCYBERCOM systems
  • Assist in penetration testing and continuous monitoring
  • Develop test plans and assessment reports
  • Incorporate analysis of higher level policy and current USCYBERCOM posture to identify policy gaps and propose recommendations to address compliance shortfalls
  • Assess security controls, ensuring compliance with Federal and DoD security policies
  • Conduct reviews of technical materials such as cyber policy and procedures, planning materials, and technical documentation and reports
  • Assist with developing and publishing security processes
  • Collect and analyze data in preparation for USCYBERCOM cyber presentation, speeches, briefings, etc.
  • Maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics on leading security indicators
  • Continually review cyber related input from various organizations, assembling relevant information for consolidation and inclusion into various cyber reports
