Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)

Location: Creech AFB, Las Vegas, NV

Position Description

In support of USAF RPA operations, our ISSO will be part of a team responsible for reviewing, assessing, developing, and managing system security plans, network architecture, training awareness programs, and coordinating with the customer to establish and adhere to access programs; review and assess inspections and incident reports for systemic trends and gaps in the cyber security implementation, policy, and training; provide security control assessment, authorization oversight, and continuous monitoring of current security posture.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in engineering, cyber security, computer science, or IT management - or - six (6) years' experience in the DoD cyber security field with cybersecurity or information assurance
  • Three (3) years' experience in SAP network administration and oversight
  • Two (2) years' experience  in the application of the JAFAN 6/3 or JSIG, ICD 705, and ICS 705
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II eligibility
  • Two (2) years experience in IA management
  • Active TS/SCI
  • Possess current state driver’s license

General Job Responsibilities

  • ISSO assists and supports ISSM to develop programs and processes that strengthen the overall information security posture of the organization
  • Maintain approvals and accreditation for all classified systems
  • Monitor networks and systems in its environment of operation, develop system security plans, manage and control changes to the system, and assess impact of those changes to security posture
  • Manage the authorization process for individual access to systems
  • Assist ISSM in developing, implementing, explaining, briefing, and training the system custodians/users concerning their responsibilities on accredited systems
  • Develop test plans and assessment reports
  • Assess security controls, ensuring compliance with Federal and DoD security policies
  • Conduct reviews of technical materials such as cyber policy and procedures, planning materials, and technical documentation and report
